Registered Nurse Candice Blanchard Awarded Daisy Award From Advantage Medical Professionals
Registered Nurse Candice Blanchard Recieves Daisy Award from Advantage Medical Professionals
The Advantage Medical Professionals team recently held a ceremony to honor the recent Daisy Award winner in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Inspired by the quality care he received when hospitalized, this award was created in memory of Patrick Barnes, who died from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) in 1999. Currently, more than 4,800 healthcare facilities and schools of nursing participate in the Daisy 29 countries worldwide.
Candice Blanchard, RN was recognized for her relentless efforts during Hurricane Ida, as well as her commitment to patient care through the COVID-19 pandemic. During the lunch ceremony, Nurse Blanchard was presented with the official Daisy Award certificate and a hand-carved stone sculpture titled “A Healer’s Touch” by Director of Nursing, Angela Totora, MBA/HA, RN.
Recruiter Nancy Mumphrey nominated Blanchard for her unwavering commitment to helping patients and fellow staff in the most trying circumstances. As she neared the end of her contract at the facility she was assigned, she made the decision to extend her contract there to assist with the influx of patients due to the Delta variant spike of COVID-19. She also exhibited selfless commitment while serving as a MedSurg nurse in the days leading up to Hurricane Ida; she willingly volunteered to work the day of Ida’s expected landfall and throughout the days that followed. You can read her full profile on the DAISY site here.
Advantage Medical Professionals would also like to recognize and congratulate all of our recent Daisy Award nominees: Jennifer Daniel, Tanya Thornton, John Michael Garcia, Beck Anderson, Danielle Adams, Maggie Milstead, Crystal Davis, Brittany Wilson, and Shawn Fuller.
