Nurses Week is a yearly celebration beginning on May 6^th and ending on May 12^th that honors the nursing profession. This year, we’re celebrating each day by turning the spotlight on one of our very own healthcare heroes! Read on to learn more about Collin Palma, RN.

What characteristics do you think are important to have when being a traveler?

Adaptability, confidence in your nursing skills, and experience (Not a characteristic, but having a great recruiter helps too)

What is one thing you can’t live without?

Definitely my family (my wonderful wife and my three dogs😊)

How has the nursing profession changed since the beginning of your career?

Nursing nowadays is much tougher in general. We’re faced with tougher assignments than in the past and usually with less staff on hand than ever before.

What initially interested you in travel nursing?

The ability to step out of the comfort zone of my local hospital and see different patient populations and the ability to assimilate into new cultures through traveling was intriguing to me.

What has been your favorite facility so far and what did you like most about it?

Lafayette General in Lafayette, Louisiana – the staff and the people I have encountered there have all been great.
